By Bus

From GREYHOUND BUS STATION (open 24 hours) :
by metro rail: Exit bus station onto N. Division St. Walk right to Main St, two short blocks. Turn right onto Main Street. Take metro train from Church Station (no fee) to Theater Station. Hostel is located adjacent to Theater Station. See full schedule for the metro rail at www.nfta.com.

by walking: Exit bus station onto N. Division St. Walk right to Main St, two short blocks. Turn right onto Main St. Walk until you reach the hostel at 667 Main St (10-15 minutes). 

by taxi: Taxi fare will be $3.50-$4.00. 

By Train 

AMTRAK SERVICE INTO BUFFALO
There are two Amtrak stations in Buffalo: Exchange Station and Depew Station. The Exchange Station is much more convenient to the hostel.

The train from Chicago will come into Depew Station only.
The direct train from Boston (Lake Shore Limited) comes into Depew Station only.
Trains come into both stations from other points of origin. It is possible to come into Amtrak-Exchange from Boston by going first to New York City and then to Buffalo.

From AMTRAK-EXCHANGE Station (open 7am-4:30pm, but trains arrrive before and after also):
by free metro rail: Exit train station, walk left to Main St, two short blocks. Turn left onto Main St. Take metro train from Erie Canal Harbor Station (no fee) to Theater Station. Hostel is located adjacent to Theater Station. See the full schedule for the metro rail at www.nfta.com.

by walking: Exit train station, walk left to Main St, two short blocks. Turn right onto Main St. Walk to 667 Main St (15-20 minutes).

by taxi: Taxi fare will be approximately $5.00. 

From AMTRAK-DEPEW STATION (open 24 hours):
by city bus: Every 6C, 6D, and 6F bus will pull into Amtrak-Depew Station.  See the full schedule for the #6 bus at www.nfta.com.  There is very limited bus service on Sunday. The fare is $1.75. Take the #6 bus to downtown. Get off at the corner of Ellicott St & E. Huron St. Walk toward the gold-domed building. Turn right onto Main St. Walk two blocks to 667 Main St.

by taxi: Taxi fare will be approximately $28.00. You may be able to share taxi fare with other travelers headed into downtown Buffalo. 

From the Airport

From BUFFALO NIAGARA AIRPORT (open 24 hours):

For those who can, take the #204 public airport express. It runs Monday-Friday, 6:22am-5:04pm. The #204 drops off at N. Division & Ellicott. From there to the hostel, follow the  directions from the bus station. See the full schedule for the #204 bus at www.nfta.com. Fare is $1.75

The #24 city bus runs from 5:41am-11:40pm Monday-Friday, 6:57am-11:39pm Saturday, and 6:36am-11:38pm Sunday. The fare is $1.75. See the full schedule for the #24 bus at www.nfta.com. Take the #24 bus to downtown; get off at the corner of Chippewa St and Ellicott St. Walk two short blocks to Main St. turn right onto Main St. Walk one block to 667 Main St.

If you see a #30 city bus, you can also take that to the hostel. This can be a great option for guests arriving in the evening or on Saturday afternoon.  Fare is $1.75. ASK THE DRIVER FOR A TRANSFER. Take the #30 to University Rail Station. Go underground to take the next metro train headed downtown (Erie Canal Harbor).  Show conductor your transfer if asked. Get off the train at Theater station. Cross Main St; walk toward the outbound Theater metro station. You’ll see the hostel at 667 Main St.

The ITA shuttle runs from the airport to downtown on the hour from 7am to 10pm daily. The charge is $15 per person. The shuttle leaves from the cab kiosk on the lower (Arrivals) level and will take you to the Comfort Suites Hotel, located at 601 Main St. Walk toward the Market Arcade Cinema. The hostel is at 667 Main St.

Cab fare from the airport is $25-30. Hostellers may be able to share taxi fare with other travelers headed downtown

By Car

DRIVING: use the rear address of hostel as your destination: 664 Washington St. There’s a well-lighted walkway leading from Washington St to our front door.

By CAR from the I-90 West: Take exit 51W (33W to Buffalo). Go 6.8 miles; exit at Goodell St. Get into the left lane. Go approximately 0.3 miles; turn left at Washington St. Cross Tupper St, and you will be in the block behind the hostel.

By CAR from I-90 East: Take the I-190N (exit 53) towards Canada/Downtown. Take exit#6 (Elm St). Turn left on N. Division St. Turn right on Washington St. Go 0.6 miles to rear of hostel.

By CAR from Niagara Falls: Take I-190S. Go 16.1 miles to exit 6 (Elm St). Turn left on N. Division St. Turn right on Washington St. Go 0.6 miles to rear of hostel.

By CAR from the airport Follow signs to 33W to Buffalo. Go approximately 8.5 miles and exit at Goodell St. Go approximately 0.3 miles; turn left at Washington St. Cross Tupper St, and you will be in the block behind the hostel.

Parking:

There is metered parking along Washington St: $2/10hrs or $1/2hrs from 8am to 6pm Monday-Friday. Street parking is free 6pm-8am and on weekends and holidays. There is a municipal parking garage at 362 Pearl St, two blocks from hostel: $2-5/day depending on time in/time out. Overnight parking IS allowed.
