AMTRAK SERVICE INTO BUFFALO

There are two Amtrak stations in Buffalo: Exchange Station and Depew Station. The Exchange Station is much more convenient to the hostel.

The train from Chicago will come into Depew Station only.

The direct train from Boston (Lake Shore Limited) comes into Depew Station only.

Trains come into both stations from other points of origin. It is possible to come into Amtrak-Exchange from Boston by going first to New York City and then to Buffalo.

 

 

 

 

From AMTRAK-EXCHANGE Station (open 7am-4:30pm, but trains arrrive before and after also):

By free metro rail: Exit train station, walk left to Main St, two short blocks. Turn left onto Main St. Take metro train from Erie Canal Harbor Station (no fee) to Theater Station. Hostel is located adjacent to Theater Station. See the full schedule for the metro rail at www.nfta.com.

By walking: Exit train station, walk left to Main St, two short blocks. Turn right onto Main St. Walk to 667 Main St (15-20 minutes).

By taxi: Taxi fare will be approximately $5.00.

 

From AMTRAK-DEPEW STATION (open 24 hours):

By city bus: Every 6C, 6D, and 6F bus will pull into Amtrak-Depew Station. See the full schedule for the #6 bus at www.nfta.com. There is very limited bus service on Sunday. The fare is $2.05. Take the #6 bus to downtown. Get off at the corner of Ellicott St & E. Huron St. Walk toward the gold-domed building. Turn right onto Main St. Walk two blocks to 667 Main St.

By taxi: Taxi fare will be approximately $28.00. You may be able to share taxi fare with other travelers headed into downtown Buffalo.
