We provide an affordable, laid back communal home-base for travelers from all over the world visiting Niagara Falls, exploring Buffalo and the greater Western New York region!
Our goal is to make you feel like you are at a home away from home and a part of our community.
We host events that bring in local artists and musicians within our walls and provide guests ample room to relax & enjoy.
Centrally located in the heart of Buffalo's Theatre District, we're close to all that's happening downtown and around the city. We're easily accessible through public transportation and ride sharing.

Dorm rooms are a great way to save money and meet new people. Our male, female, & co-ed dorms provide comfortable accommodations paid for on a per-bed basis. Just like sharing a house with close friends, bathroom, full kitchen and lounge facilities are communal as well. This intimate setting makes an easy gateway to get to know travelers from all over the world.
In addition to our dorm and private rooms, we offer a number of on-site amenities. In our basement level you'll find shared laundry ($5), a lounge with big screen TV with Netflix, and an impressive VHS collection, a ping-pong table, and our 'Free Store'. On the first floor you can access BOX gallery, use a guest computer to browse or print anything you need, there's a piano if you'd like to indulge us with a tune and our backroom event space for special events and happenings.
On the 2nd floor you'll the main lounge and our fully equipped kitchen with coffee, teas, bread and oatmeal, also pots, pans, herbs, & spices to cook to your hearts content!
Scattered throughout the hostel and the stairwells, you'll find a plethora of mini-libraries of hundreds of books, local art works, murals, and tidbits on local history sprinkled throughout.
Visit BOX Gallery, Stay for Some Music
The Hostel's BOX gallery is a small experimental gallery with an on street view which features local artists to transform the space on a bi-monthly basis. The space hosts shows from contemporary art installations to interactive virtual reality to avant-garde performances to traditional painting and sculptural shows. More often than not, there will also be a music act, variety show or poetry reading happening in our event space on the first floor.
The City of Good Neighbors &
Buffalo goes by many names, the 'Queen City of the Lakes', the 'Nickel City' and our favorite 'The City of Good Neighbors'. Take some time to slow down and walk or bike around the city. Our hostel staff can offer great recommendations on where to go and things to see depending on your interests.
